The Pollocks - Fridays After Five

With Susie and the Pistols

FRIDAYS AFTER FIVE - BUD LIGHT CONCERT SERIES

The Pollocks - Psychedelic Pop Rock - Free Show

The Pollocks play rock n roll, the psychedelic south. Formed in 2008, the band can play both the rhythm and the blues. There's some classic country thrown in there, some Neil Young and Crazy Horse, Lou Reed, Beatles and Stones, Peter Green, The Band, and above all the original compositions off of their two studio albums, "Johnny Sunshine and The Rainbows" and "Set And Setting".

Jason Pollock was born and raised in central Virginia and was the guitarist/songwriter and founding member of the rock band Seven Mary Three, writing such hits as "Cumbersome", "Water's Edge", and "Rock Crown". Time and circumstance led him back home, where he coerced Maryline Meyer into singing with him on albums that he recorded in a spare bedroom. Nathan West was the next pick; he can be gentle or beat fire from the drums. Thomas Gunn shares the songwriting duties, and lead vocals with Jason, as well as holding down the job of lead guitarist. Bassist Randy Mendicino is the latest, greatest addition to the band.

Between the five of them, they've seen most of the planet and performed in every situation: from bar rooms with drunk hecklers (last night), to festivals of screaming fanatics. It's called "paying dues", and they've been doing it for years. Like any band that's worth their salt, they enjoy the love of communing with people... getting into musical adventures and seeing where the rabbit hole leads.

The Pollocks is an open-ended, open-minded experiment, flying high on raw emotions and musical discovery, while remaining grounded in the history of an original, American art form. Their story is best expressed through an amplified speaker, and best absorbed up close and personal.

The goal of the Sprint Pavilion is to provide a safe, enjoyable environment for all of our patrons, our performers, and our staff. With that in mind, beginning in 2018, we will enact new security procedures to make sure that prohibited or dangerous items are not brought into the venue. For all events, including Fridays After Five, patron points of entry will be limited and there will be a bag check for any packages brought inside the gates.  We encourage our patrons to travel light but, if you do have bags or packages with you, plan for the entry to take a few moments as our staff inspects the bags. We appreciate your patience so that we can all feel safe. Unfortunately, we do not offer any bag check so please familiarize yourself with our list of prohibited items and leave them at home.

For all ticketed events, we will be instituting a higher level of security. All patrons will be asked to walk through our metal detectors after emptying their pockets of any metal objects. Patrons may opt for a pat down inspection should they choose. We will have plenty of lines open and we hope that this procedure will flow smoothly and not delay your entrance to the venue. Should you bring bags with you to ticketed events, we will still need to inspect the parcel prior to you passing thru the metal detectors. Once again, we appreciate your patience as we work to ensure the safety of all of our patrons.
