FRIDAYS AFTER FIVE - BUD LIGHT CONCERT SERIES

Cherry Red - Ladies & Gentlemen, the Rolling Stones - Free Show

Cherry Red was born in the mind of award winning songwriter, guitarist, keyboardist and Keith Richards fanatic, Stephen Pollock.  His concept was to put together a band to do not necessarily Rolling Stones’ music note for note but to certainly capture the correct feel and attitude.  Stephen has studied Richard’s stylings and tunings that are at center of the Stones sound.  The Human Riff, indeed!

Cherry Red did not emerge overnight.  There were several false starts but finally all the right musicians were assembled.  These fine musicians are:

Dan Barrale: drums and vocals.  Dan performs with The Kool Kats, Red and the Romantics and the Michael Elswick Trio among others.  His Sinatra crooning is second to none.

Nick Pollock: lead vocals, guitar.  At 23, Nick is the youngest member of the band.  He has been gigging as a solo artist, singer/songwriter, since the age of 15.  He received a great deal of local airplay with his song, “Home”, featuring Erin Lunsford as a guest vocalist.  Their voices blended perfectly.  The track can be purchased, as well as the rest of Nick’s catalog on iTunes, Amazon and CD Baby.

Steve Riggs: Bass.  Steve is the go to bassist in Charlottesville for rock and blues.  He has performed with such legendary bands as, The Charlottesville Blues All Stars, American Dumpster, Red and the Romantics and Pollock, Taylor and Fekas (PTF) to name but a few.

Rob Rosadina: guitar and vocals.  Like Dan Barrale, Rob hails from the NY/NJ area.  Rob has been a major part of bands like, Field Trip, Bubba Rose and Swagger.  Rob has the challenge of taking on the parts of three guitarists, Brian Jones, Mick Taylor and Ronnie Wood.  He is up to the challenge!

The name, Cherry Red, comes from the lyrics of the Stones song, “Can’t Always Get What You Want”.

“We decided we would have a soda, my favorite flavor, cherry red”.  Cherry Red wants to be your favorite flavor when it comes to authentic sounding Rolling Stones music.
